Start with a focused queue
Tasks are things you need to do. Task flow brings each task together with its account and contact context so you can work through a focused batch.
- Open Tasks. Filter and sort the table for the work you want to handle.
- Select specific rows, or leave the selection empty to use the tasks on the current page.
- Select Start with N tasks. The number reflects eligible, incomplete tasks assigned to you; completed or other-assignee tasks are left out.
- If the audio check appears, test your microphone and speaker before continuing.
The batch follows the table's order. Starting without a selection uses the current page, so check the count before you begin. Tasks need an associated account to open in task flow.
The audio check applies to Athean dialer batches containing call tasks. Its Show before beginning task flow option controls whether it appears; you can retest from the dialer's Settings tab.
Take the action the task needs
- Calls: select Start call. After an attempt, the action may become Call next number if the contact has another number, or Mark as complete after the available numbers have been tried. Log the outcome and next step in the call log.
- Email: select Review email to open the composer and review the recipient and message. If an address is missing, Missing email lets you update it.
- LinkedIn: select Open message and follow the controls for that outreach step.
- Other work: carry out the task, then use Mark complete or the Mark as complete control.
Opening a composer or placing a call is preparation for completing the task. Review and carry out the action, then confirm the appropriate completion or follow-up. See Dialer and call settings and Email for channel-specific guidance.
Complete, snooze, or skip deliberately
Use the controls beneath the task to record what happened and move forward:
- Mark as complete records that the task is done and advances to the next available task.
- Snooze task moves its due date by 1 business day, 2 business days, 3 business days, or 1 week, then advances. It remains work to do later.
- Skip task marks the task skipped and advances. To revisit the task later, use Snooze instead.
- Schedule for auto send appears for eligible steps in active sequences when you have permission. Choose Schedule for ASAP or Schedule for tomorrow to queue the step.
Call wrap-up can also determine the next action: complete the step, try another number, or schedule a later attempt. Check that choice before logging the call.
Queue progress includes completed, skipped, and snoozed tasks. All tasks handled! means this batch has no remaining available tasks; it does not mean every task was completed. Return to Tasks to review the remaining work or start another batch.
Choose what opens automatically
Open Settings → Task flow to choose your preferences:
- Auto-dial calls: start dialing when task flow advances to a call task, and continue to the next number in the dialer queue.
- Auto-open outreach composer: open the composer when you advance to an email or LinkedIn outreach task. AI-written messages generate on open, just as when you open the composer yourself.
- Auto-open LinkedIn profile: open the contact's profile when a LinkedIn task loads. This requires the Athean Chrome extension.
Save your preferences. Automatic composer opening prepares the message for review. Use the play/pause control beside the dialer to turn auto-dialing off when you want to start each call yourself.
For a complete calling session, follow Power dialing. The Dialer guide also covers your personal caller number, local presence, and voicemail drops.
