Sending settings and limits

Set organization defaults, understand personal overrides, and review the limits and timing of automated outreach.

Choose who manages sending settings

Administrators manage shared defaults in Organization settings → Sequence sending. Individual users review their effective settings in Settings → Scheduling.

  • Allow user override enabled: a person's saved values take precedence where they have set them; organization values supply the remaining defaults. Changing an organization default does not replace a saved personal override.
  • Allow user override disabled: the organization values apply to everyone, and the personal scheduling controls are disabled.

Choose the policy before rolling out a sequence to a team. If someone cannot edit their settings, check this policy before investigating their permissions.

Review timing and sending limits

Use the settings together to control how automated outreach is scheduled:

  • Validation: applies daily limits and other scheduling guardrails to automated email and LinkedIn actions. The personal settings screen displays this as enabled and does not provide a personal toggle.
  • Use contact time zone: schedules automated email and LinkedIn actions using the contact's local timezone.
  • Daily limit: caps automated emails per user per day.
  • Per-domain daily limit: caps automated emails to a single recipient domain per day. A value of 0 disables this additional cap.
  • Number of days to try to schedule: controls how far automatic emails can be pushed back while trying to fit within sending limits.
  • Vary email send times (minutes): adds variation around planned email send times.

The email limits apply to automated email scheduling. They do not describe your provider's total sending allowance. Review the channels and timing inside the sequence as well as these shared settings.

Save and check scheduled work

  1. Review the organization policy and the values that should apply to your team.
  2. Select Save changes in Organization settings, or save your personal settings.
  3. Check the scheduled work for a contact in Active sequences before enrolling a larger audience.

Personal Scheduling settings apply to contacts added to operators or templates going forward. Review the contact's pending steps for the actual time of existing work; use the available rescheduling or sequence controls when you need to change it. See Approvals and active sequences and Edit, reschedule, or stop a pending send.

Understand why a step is delayed

Start with the affected contact and the pending step. Check whether the sequence is waiting for approval, is paused, or is waiting on a manual task. Then check the sending account's connection, contact timezone, and applicable daily and per-domain limits.

For example, several contacts at the same company can reach the per-domain cap even when the sender still has room under their daily limit. The resulting schedule depends on the allowed scheduling window and the work already queued.

If a step still does not behave as expected, contact support with the affected contact, sequence, and expected time so we can examine the specific workflow.
