Signals and Tasks are the core of Athean
Athean revolves around two flows:
| Flow | What it means |
|---|---|
| Signals | Things you need to know. Review information that deserves your attention and use it to decide what matters. |
| Tasks | Things you need to do. Work through the actions and follow-ups that need to happen. |
Everything else supports these two flows. Prospecting and lists define who you focus on. Research and enrichment add context. Sequences organize outreach, and agents automate recurring work. Each helps you know what matters or take the next step.
Dashboards complete the model: track your efforts and results, then use what you learn to improve your targeting, outreach, and daily priorities.
Start with Home
Home brings useful information and next steps into one workspace. Depending on your layout, you may see tasks, upcoming meetings, activity, sequence approvals, performance, or shortcuts to prospecting tools.
Use Ask Athean to run work through conversation: research accounts, build an audience, prepare outreach, and understand results. Use Quick start shortcuts to open a specific product area. Your Home layout can differ from another teammate's because layouts and access are configurable.
To create a personal tab, add blocks, or adapt a copy of a shared layout, follow Customize your Home. The same guide explains how administrators build and assign layouts for a team.
For a simple daily routine, review Signals for what you need to know, check the relevant account context, and open Tasks to work through your follow-ups.

Understand how the pieces connect
An account is a company; a contact is a person. Open an account to understand the business and its people, or open a contact to review details and interactions with that person.
A list collects records for a purpose, such as an event or prospecting campaign. A saved view remembers filters so you can return to the same criteria. You can use a saved view to focus on part of a list.
A sequence organizes outreach steps. Some steps can run automatically; others create tasks for you to complete. A signal gives you context for deciding what to do. An agent can carry out a defined recurring workflow using the tools and access available to it.
Review your efforts and improve
Open Dashboards to review how your efforts are going. Use the results to decide where to focus, what to change, and which workflows to keep using.
Start with the Dashboards guide to choose the right reporting view, or analyze sequence performance to improve your outreach. Use Custom dashboards for a view built around your own question.
Bring those decisions back to your daily work: refine the accounts and contacts you focus on, adjust your outreach or recurring workflows, and prioritize the signals and tasks that deserve attention.
When your screen looks different
Home and account layouts, permissions, integrations, and organization settings affect what appears. A missing tab or action does not necessarily mean you are in the wrong place. Check your active filters and selected view, then ask your administrator about access or shared configuration if needed.
Administrators can use Groups to organize shared team setup and Permissions and roles to check what a person can do. For sign-in and license issues, see User provisioning.
