About Athean
Athean began at Verkada as an internal sales prospecting tool in response to the challenges posed by a rapidly growing sales team, where traditional prospecting methods and existing tools were becoming less effective.
Since its internal launch, we’ve seen overwhelming adoption from our 500 person sales team, with resounding preference over existing, market-leading sales tools. Reflecting on its success, we saw the potential to share this powerful tool with the market and build new innovations.
Athean, a subsidiary of Verkada, is a venture into the sales tools market. The sales engagement tools industry alone represents a $9 billion opportunity, offering vast potential for innovation and growth. At Athean, we are committed to revolutionizing the way buyers and sellers connect. Join us on this exciting journey.
About the role
As the first marketing hire at Athean, you will be the architect of our growth engine. This role is for a builder, an experimenter, and a relentless optimizer who is ready to take ownership of our marketing from the ground up. You will have the autonomy to identify, test, and scale the most effective acquisition channels, from paid and organic to community and partnerships. Your primary focus will be on driving user growth and revenue, but you will also be responsible for the full scope of marketing, including our brand presence and the company's marketing website.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will work directly with the founding team to shape the future of Athean.
You might be a good fit if you have…
  • A history of exceptional performance in a highly analytical or entrepreneurial environment. Direct marketing experience is not required; backgrounds in fields like quantitative trading or engineering are welcome.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex systems quickly and drive measurable outcomes from first principles.
  • Naturally quantitative and creative, with a strong intuition for finding leverage and a relentless approach to experimentation.
  • Scrappy and resourceful; you have a bias for action and find ways to get things done with or without a playbook.
Location
This is a fully in-person role; we expect you to work out of our office in San Francisco, CA.
Salary & benefits
  • Salary range: $150,000 - $240,000 USD.
  • Equity ownership compensation.
  • Generous company paid medical, dental & vision insurance coverage.
