About the role
As our founding product designer, you will play a critical role in defining the user experience and brand assets of our Athean platform. You'll have the opportunity to set design standards, help build the product vision, and work with engineers to bring it to life. One of the primary value propositions of Athean is its intuitive interface and ease-of-use. Your vision and execution will be foundational to our success in this proposition.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the founding team to define the product vision and roadmap.
- Design core Athean product features end-to-end, from the user experience to the visual design, from ideation to implementation.
- Work with engineering teams to provide feedback on implementation and ensure they are aligned to design.
- Create assets for auxiliary, customer facing products and materials, including the Athean marketing website and other communications.
- Define brand standards for the company, all related products, and communications.
- Interview end-users to develop a deep understanding of their attitudes, behaviors, and feedback.
You might be a good fit if you...
- Have 6+ years of IC experience in product or marketing design
- Have a BS or MS in Design or Computer Science
- Have expertise in UX-related programming languages, e.g., HTML, CSS, Javascript
- Have expertise in UX-related tools, e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Figma
- Are excited by building 0 to 1, iterating quickly, and working in ambiguity
- Have an exceptional eye for simple and powerful design, informed by a deep understanding of user attitudes and behaviors
Location
This is a fully in-person role; we expect you to work out of our office in San Francisco, CA.
Salary and benefits
- Salary range: $130,000 - $280,000 USD.
- Verkada equity in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs).
